Simple User Listing | 1.7.3 | 100 | 12 | 17620 |
| |||
A shortcode for displaying paginated lists of users. Other plugins output paginated lists of users, but I needed to be able to customize and style this list to fit my theme. So I created this plugin to use templates that can be overridden and customized by theme developers. To customize any of the templates, copy the file from the plugin's "templates" folder to your themes "simple-user-listing" folder. Usage Place this shortcode anywhere you'd like to display a full list of all your blog's users. [userlist] By default the plugin will print out the users based on the "Posts per Page" setting under Settings->Reading, but this and many other settings can be changed via the shortcode's parameters. Support If after reading the FAQ you still need help, support is handled in the WordPress forums. Please note that support is limited and does not cover any custom implementation of the plugin. Please report any bugs, errors, warnings, code problems to Github | ||||||||

Multiple Roles per User | 1.0 | 100 | 2 | 516 |
| |||
Version: 1 Author: nikolov.tmw Author URI: http://paiyakdev.com/ Works when creating or editing an user. Allows anyone who can edit users to set multiple roles per user. In a default WordPress environment that wouldn't have much of an effect, since the user would have the privileges of the top-privileged role that you assign to him. But if you have custom roles with custom privileges, this might be helpful. Known bug If you use User Role Editor plugin, and it is active, when you try to change roles assigned to an user, in the user edit screen, you can only unassign one role per time. But, if User Role Editor is inactive, works like a charm. Any support with this is welcome. Sometimes handing your site over to clients or when you run a site with multiple users if can be a pain to explain how your users can create their own profile picture for comments or any other custom... functionality that uses the get_avatar() function. Before they would have to create a global Gravatar account which is fine if that's what you want however, with this plugin there is no need to rely on your users having a Gravatar account. This plugin will allow the users on your WordPress site to upload their own Profile Picture through the Media Library either by Uploading a new file or choosing one from the Media Library. | ||||||||

The avatar will be the first (or any other) letter of WP First Letter Avatar sets custom avatars for users without Gravatar. The avatar will be a first letter of the user's name. You can also configure the plugin to use any other letter to set custom avatar. WP First Letter Avatar includes a set of beautiful, colorful letter avatars in many sizes. Optimal size will be chosen by the plugin in order to display high quality avatar and not download, for example, big 512px avatars when only 48px is needed... PSD template for avatar is also included. You can also create your own avatar set by creating new directory next to 'default' folder and following the naming convention from 'default'. By default, custom avatar will be set only to users without Gravatars, but you can change that in settings and not use Gravatar at all. WP First Letter Avatar helps you bring more colors into your blog. Plus, your readers will be more willing to comment on your posts, since they can actually relate to these avatars much better than to Mystery Person. All images were compressed using the fantastic TinyPNG, so avatars are incredibly light and ultra-high quality. WP First Letter Avatar is also available on GitHub. This plugin gives the users the option to use their social profile picture as the WordPress Avatar As the name suggests, this plugin allows you to use the social profile picture as your WordPress Avatar. You can see more, on how to install and use the plugin here in this blog WP Social Avatar Why this plugin? If you are me, who gets bore of using the same gravatar for few days or months then this plugin is totally for you. This plugin provides option to the user to use Social media like Facebook and Google plus profile pictures as the gravatar instead of the one from en.gravatar.com. WP Social Avatar Settings: After activating the plugin admin will see WP Avatar, under Users menu. Here the admin can set the minimum role/capabilities required to avail this feature. The allowed users will see the available options in their Your Profile sub menu under Users menu. For the first version I only have two social options available, Facebook and Google plus. You need to add either the Facebook user ID(numeric) or Google plus id in the corresponding fields. You can find your facebook user id here Once done with the above, check the social profile picture you want to use as the gravatar and click Update Profile and you are done. After saving the profile you can see all the gravatars in the site has been replaced by the respective social media profile picture. With this you will get rid of the boredom of looking at the same gravatar all the time. With the change in the respective social media profile picture, the gravatar of your site will also change. With Version 1.4 Cache functionality is implemented for Google Plus avatar, this optimizes the functionality. I have added a clear cache button for Google plus, anytime you upload a new profile picture in your Google Plus account click the "clear cache" button and you will get the latest image else the code will make a request and pull the latest image after every 48 hours. This has been done to make the Google Plus functionality faster. | ||||||||

User Photo | 0.9.10 | 82 | 17 | 436615 |
| |||
Allows a user to associate a photo with their account and for this photo to be displayed in their posts and comments. Allows a user to associate a profile photo with their account through their "Your Profile" page. Admins may add a user profile photo by accessing the "Edit User" page. Uploaded images are resized to fit the dimensions specified on the options page; a thumbnail image correspondingly is also generated. User photos may be displayed within a post or a comment to help identify the author. New template tags introduced are: userphoto_the_author_photo() userphoto_the_author_thumbnail() userphoto_comment_author_photo() userphoto_comment_author_thumbnail() Important: all of these "template tags" must appear inside of PHP script blocks (see examples below). The first two should be placed in the posts loop near the_author(), and the second two in the comments loop near comment_author() (or their respective equivalents). Furthermore, userphoto_the_author_photo() and userphoto_the_author_thumbnail() may be called anywhere (i.e. sidebar) if $authordata is set. The output of these template tags may be modified by passing four parameters: $before, $after, $attributes, and $default_src, as in: userphoto_the_author_photo($before, $after, $attributes, $default_src). If the user photo exists (or $default_src is supplied), then the text provided in the $before and $after parameters is respectively prefixed and suffixed to the generated img tag (a common pattern in WordPress). If attributes are provided in the $attributes parameter, then they are returned as attributes of the generated img element. For example: userphoto_the_author_photo('', '', array(style => 'border:0')) Just added in 0.8.1 release are these two new template tags: userphoto($user, $before = '', $after = '', $attributes = array(), $default_src = '') userphoto_thumbnail($user, $before = '', $after = '', $attributes = array(), $default_src = '') By using these, it is uneccessary to set the global $authordata to display a photo. Just pass $authordata, $curauth or whatever variable you have which contains the user object, or (as of version 0.9), pass in a user ID or a user login name. Here's an example that shows a few ways of inserting a user's photo into the post loop: //this will display the user's avatar if they don't have a user photo, <?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?> <div class="post" id="post-<?php the_ID(); ?>"> <h2><a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></a></h2> <div class="meta"> <?php the_time('F jS, Y') ?> by <?php the_author() ?> <!-- displays the user's photo and then thumbnail --> <?php userphoto_the_author_photo() ?> <?php userphoto_the_author_thumbnail() ?> <!-- the following two do the same since $authordata populated --> <?php userphoto($authordata) ?> <?php userphoto_thumbnail($authordata) ?> <!-- and this is how to customize the output --> <?php userphoto_the_author_photo( '<b>Photo of me: ', '</b>', array('class' => 'photo'), get_template_directory_uri() . '/nophoto.jpg' ) ?> </div> <?php the_content('Read the rest of this entry »'); ?> </div> <?php endwhile; ?> If you want to display the user's photo in the sidebar, just get the user ID or object and pass it into userphoto() or userphoto_thumbnail() like this: <?php userphoto($posts[0]->post_author); ?> If you want to display a user's photo their author page, you may do this: <?php userphoto($wp_query->get_queried_object()) ?> In version 0.9 the boolean function userphoto_exists($user) has been introduced which returns true if the user has a photo and false if they do not. Argument $user may be user object, ID, or login name. This function can be used along with avatars: <?php if(userphoto_exists($user)) userphoto($user); else echo get_avatar($user->ID, 96); ?> Or if the new "Serve Avatar as Fallback" option is turned on, then the avatar will be served by any of the regular calls to display the user photo: <?php //this will display the user's avatar if they don't have a user photo, // and if "Serve Avatar as Fallback" is turned on userphoto($user); ?> Additionally, all of the regular function calls to display the user photo may be done away with alltogether if the new "Override Avatar with User Photo" option is enabled: <?php //both will display the user photo if it exists // and if "Override Avatar with User Photo" is turned on echo get_avatar($user_id); echo get_avatar($user->user_email); ?> Both options "Serve Avatar as Fallback" and "Override Avatar with User Photo" require that the 'Avatar Display' setting under Discussion be set to "Show". Uploaded images may be moderated by administrators via the "Edit User" page. Localizations included for Spanish, German, Dutch, Polish, Russian, French, Hungarian, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, and Catalan. Wordpress Special Characters in Usernames | 1.2 | 100 | 11 | 16014 |
| |||
Enables usernames containing special characters (russian, cyrillic, arabic ...) on your Wordpress Blog. More than 40 different charset included! This plugin enables usernames containing special characters (russian, cyrillic, arabic) on your WordPress blog. Per default WordPress does not allow to use special characters in usernames. Non-latin characters are silently filtered out and your users cannot create accounts containing cyrillic (russian) or arabic letters. This plugin is the solution to this problem. The plugin works for users that register with their username/password as well as for users that register using our Social Login plugin for WordPress. Please Note Special characters are encoded in the database and take a bit more space than regular characters. If users having special characters in their usernames still cannot register after having installed the plugin then you probably have to increase the length of the column user_nicename in the table wp_users in your database. Example: ALTER TABLE `wp_users` CHANGE `user_nicename` `user_nicename` VARCHAR(255) NOT NULL DEFAULT ''; | ||||||||
Restrict Usernames | 3.7 | 66 | 12 | 19898 |
| |||
Restrict the usernames that new users may use when registering for your site. This plugin allows you to restrict the usernames that new users may use when registering for your site. If open registration is enabled for your site (via Settings -> General -> Membership (“Anyone can register”)), WordPress allows visitors to register for an account on your blog. By default, any username they choose is allowed so long as it isn’t an already existing account and it doesn’t include invalid (i.e. non-alphanumeric) characters. Possible reasons for wanting to restrict certain usernames: Prevent usernames that contain foul, offensive, or otherwise undesired words Prevent squatting on usernames that you may want to use in the future (but don’t want to actually create the account for just yet) (essentially placing a hold on the username) Prevent official-sounding usernames from being used (i.e. help, support, pr, info, sales) Prevent official username syntax from being used (i.e. if all of your administrators use a prefix to identify themselves, you don’t want a visitor to use that prefix) Prevent spaces from being used in a username (which WordPress allows by default) Require that a username starts with, ends with, or contain one of a set of substrings (i.e. “support_”, “admin_”) Require a minimum number of characters for usernames Limit usernames to a maximum number of characters When attempting to register with a restricted username, the visitor will be given an error notice that says: ERROR: This username is invalid. Please enter a valid username. NOTE: This plugin does not put any restrictions on usernames that the admin chooses for users when creating user accounts from within the WordPress admin. This only restricts the names that users choose themselves when registering for your site. SPECIAL NOTE: Many membership plugins implement their own user registration handling that often bypasses checks (and hooks) performed by WordPress. As such, it is unlikely that the plugin is compatible with them without special plugin-specific amendments. Compatible with Multisite and BuddyPress as well. Links: Plugin Homepage | Plugin Directory Page | GitHub | Author Homepage Hooks The plugin exposes one filter for hooking. Typically, customizations utilizing this hook would be put into your active theme’s functions.php file, or used by another plugin. c2c_restrict_usernames-validate (filter) The ‘c2c_restrict_usernames-validate’ hook allows you to add your own customized checks for the username being registered. You can add additional restrictions or override the assessment performed by the plugin. Arguments: $valid (boolean): The assessment by the plugin about the validity of the username based on settings. True means username can be used. $username (string): The username being registered. $settings (array): The plugin’s settings. Example: /** * Add custom checks on usernames. * * Specifically, prevent use of usernames ending in numbers. * * @param bool $valid True if the username is valid, false if not. * @param string $username The username. * @param array $options Plugin options. */ function my_restrict_usernames_check( $valid, $username, $options ) { // Only do additional checking if the plugin has already performed its // checks and deemed the username valid. if ( $valid ) { // Don't allow usernames to end in numbers. if ( preg_match( '/[0-9]+$/', $username ) ) { $valid = false; } } return $valid; } add_filter( 'c2c_restrict_usernames-validate', 'my_restrict_usernames_check', 10, 3 ); | ||||||||

User Language Switch | 1.6.10 | 66 | 19 | 49780 |
| |||
Closing announcement It has been a while since we are helping to translate websites in multiple languages and we appreciate your confidence in the plugin for that. Unfortunatelly, we don't have capacity for maintining the plugin and providing support. We have planned to close User Language Switch project at Octuber 31 and we are not able to provide support any more after closing. Due to the plugin could not work in future WordPress versions and new bugs found could not be solved, we encourage users to test and make changes to use another translation plugin. Finally, our apologizes by any problem we could cause with this decision. User Language Switch is a WordPress multilingual plugin that you can use to build multilingual websites. It displays flags to visitors that your users can use to browse your website in different languages. If you prefer, you can deactivate flags and user shortcodes and functions to create your own language switch. Admin users can set default language for your website and registered users can set language they want to see your website by default. User Language Switch allows to set language for back-end and front-end independently. When content is linked, a language prefix is added in URLs of content in secondary languages. User Upgrade Capability | 2.1 | 86 | 3 | 1040 |
| |||
'User Upgrade Capability' is a plugin to help with a multi-site network and helps with the administration of users and their roles. When you start using a multi-site WordPress installation you soon realise the power of having the ability to use a separate site for different functions (e.g. main site, separate blog, separate calendar …etc) each can then be handled separately and even with different themes. However, without 'User Upgrade Capabilities' you would need to maintain the user access on each site, this is an overhead for administrators since for each site Admins will need to grant access and add/remove capabilties & roles as required, which all takes time. 'User Upgrade Capability' helps with this admin task and allows you to create a new site and point back to a master reference site re-using its user listing and capabilties/roles to define access permissions for the new linked site. One example of where this approach is helpful is for the case where you want multiple calendars for different purposes on the same WordPress site. Calendar plugins generally use a fixed database table name, this means that you can't install two calendars on the same site. With 'User Upgrade Capability' you can create a new site for each calendar and point back to the reference site re-using its user base and capabilties. The end user doesn't even know that the calendars are on a different site. Plugin site http://justinandco.com/plugins/user-upgrade-capabilities/ GitHub https://github.com/justinticktock/user-upgrade-capability WARNING Activating this plugin on a site will replace the available user roles/capabilities with a copy from the reference site you will not be able to undo. Translation: English Serbo-Croatian, sr_RS ( props Borisa Djuraskovic webhostinghub.com ) Extensions: If you select the options for extending functionality through other plugins the following are available for ease of installing.. User Role Editor for Admins to control user access/capability. Blog Copier for ease of duplicating sites. | ||||||||

| |||
Author URI: http://samelh.com/ Donate link: http://samelh.com/ Allows you to restrict registration for custom usernames, email addresses and custom e Restrict User Registration Plugin allows you to restrict registration for custom usernames, email addresses and custom email service providers. Features: Restrict specific usernames:Allows you to easily add custom usernames in the dashboard options panel ( users > restrict registration ). Once you set up these custom usernames, each time someone tries to register to your WordPress blog/site providing this targeted username, the registration process is getting bailed and the user gets an error message. Restrict specific emails:You can add specific email addresses ( example me@example.com) and they will be automatically ignored and rejected from user registration process. Restrict emails from specific domain: This one can also be an anti-spam tool. Before digging into details about this one, an email service provider is the website (domain name) that follows @ in the email address. An example is gmail.com from Google, you can add these service providers domains and they will be ignored and restricted as well. An example is adding outlook.com to ignore all registrations using an email address ending in @outlook.com ( that’s a secure one by the way, from Microsoft.) Custom error messages:You can set up custom error messages so that the users trying to register and getting bailed will then know what the issue is and what to do for better experience. New User Approve | 1.7.4 | 66 | 30 | 182939 |
| |||
New User Approve allows a site administrator to approve a user before they are able to login to the site. On a normal WordPress site, once a new user registers, the user is created in the database. Then an email is sent to the new user with their login credentials. Very simple. As it should be. The New User Approve plugin modifies the registration process. When a user registers for the site, the user gets created and then an email gets sent to the administrators of the site. An administrator then is expected to either approve or deny the registration request. An email is then sent to the user indicating whether they were approved or denied. If the user has been approved, the email will include the login credentials. Until a user is approved, the user will not be able to login to the site. Only approved users will be allowed to login to site. Users waiting for approval as well as denied users will not be able to login to site. A user's status can be updated even after the initial approval/denial. Each user that exists before New User Approve has been activated will be treated as an approved user. Default WordPress registration process: User registers. User is shown message to check email. Login credentials are sent to new user in an email. User logs in to site using login credentials. Admin is notified of new user sign up via email. WordPress registration process with New User Approve plugin activated: User registers for access to site. User is shown message to wait for approval. Admin is notified of new user sign up via email. Admin goes to wp-admin to approve or deny new user. Email is sent to user. If approved, email will include login credentials. User logs in to site using login credentials. Follow New User Approve on Github Further support at newuserapprove.com. Customize New User Approve allows for customizations by using custom actions and filters. You can find out more about these by browsing the source code. A commercial plugin that adds a config panel for customization is also available at https://newuserapprove.com/products/options-addon/. | ||||||||
